How do I become a referee?

Valley Premier attempts to use Valley Premier players to referee our younger ages.  For the large field we prefer former Valley Premier players.  We believe significant leadership opportunities exist for those who become referees.  A competent referee is a part of a well played game.  It is the job of the referee to call the game accurately but more importantly it is the job of the referee to manage the game.  This sometimes means coaches and players need managing.  Being a referee is more than just knowing the rules.  We encourage mature, motivated youth to inquire.  Referees must be certified at grade 9 to call a recreational match.  The certification process can be researched at www.oregonreferee.com.  Please email us for more info at www.valleypremierfc@gmail.com.
